On the occasion of World Diabetes Day 2015, the Prolepsis Institute emphasizes the importance of preventing the onset and progression of Type II diabetes for patients and healthcare systems alike, as highlighted in the National Dietary Guidelines disseminated by the Prolepsis Institute through the Program “Eu Dia…. Trofin”.
Prolepsis Institute will participate in the European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ESCAIDE)
Prolepsis Institute will participate in the European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology - ESCAIDE 2015 and in the pre-conference one-day workshop of the European Commission Agency: Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA). In view of the ESCAIDE conference set by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) in Stockholm on November 11 -13, 2015, CHAFEA will organize in Stockholm a pre-event satellite workshop on "Bringing epidemiology to public health security policy” on November 10, 2015.

Prolepsis Institute participated in the 12th European Congress of Nutrition, held on October 20-23 in Berlin. It is estimated that 1600 delegates from 70 nations attended the conference. One of the most significant conclusions is that it is possible to have a healthier lifestyle even on earlier stages of life.
World Breastfeeding Week 2015
In connection with the World Breastfeeding Week 2015 Prolepsis Institute underlines the importance and the unquestionable benefits of breastfeeding for the child and the mother, for the family but also for the health care system. The importance of breastfeeding is highlighted in the National Dietary Guidelines, designed, published and disseminated by Prolepsis Institute through the Program“Ev Dia…. Trofin”.

Athena Linos, Professor of the School of Medicine at the University of Athens and President of the Prolepsis Institute spoke on the «Sto Kokkino» radio station on October 26th with the journalist Julie Tsigka, the cardiologist George Vichas, member of the assembly of the Metropolitan Community Clinic at Helliniko and George Galanis member of the primary school teachers' federation (DOE) about child poverty in Greece and the implementation of the program DIATROFI.
Processed meats have been classified as carcinogenic according to WHO
The World Health Organization announced that processed and red meat can cause cancer on the basis of a report by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC, Department of the World Health Organization). According to the report supported by sufficient evidence, processed meats are classified by IARC as Group 1 carcinogenic to humans.
