Athena Linos, Professor of the School of Medicine at the University of Athens and President of the Prolepsis Institute spoke on the «Sto Kokkino» radio station on October 26th with the journalist Julie Tsigka, the cardiologist George Vichas, member of the assembly of the Metropolitan Community Clinic at Helliniko and George Galanis member of the primary school teachers' federation (DOE) about child poverty in Greece and the implementation of the program DIATROFI.
Processed meats have been classified as carcinogenic according to WHO
The World Health Organization announced that processed and red meat can cause cancer on the basis of a report by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC, Department of the World Health Organization). According to the report supported by sufficient evidence, processed meats are classified by IARC as Group 1 carcinogenic to humans.

Obesity has evolved into a serious public health issue, an epidemic in both developed and underdeveloped countries. In 2014 more than 1,9 billion adults were overweight while 600 million of them were obese.
The Program DIATROFI was presented in the 2nd International Conference of Global Food Security
The Prolepsis Institute has been one of the participants in the 2nd International Conference of Global Food Security which took place in New York in October 11-14 hosted by Cornell University and Columbia University. The main theme of the conference was to range across disciplines to encompass treatments of the challenge of Global Food Security.
