Informational events for farmers and health measures to protect against bird flu

The Institute of Preventive Medicine Environmental and Occupational Health, Prolepsis, has organized a series of informative events regarding farmers' health problems and the protection measures against avian influenza. The events, which are sponsored by the Agricultural Bank of Greece, were held in Kilkis, Kozani and Ormylia- Chalkidiki on March 14 -15, 2009.

The children of Gaza are struggling to survive, homeless, hungry, thirsty, and in need of medical care. They also need to go back to school and to a normal life that most children all over the world take for granted. They need and deserve all the help one can give.

Within the context of the new information campaign for the protection against avian influenza, the Prolepsis Institute organizes, with the kind support of ATEBANK, a press conference entitled "Rural Population and Avian Influenza: Guidelines for Protection". The conference will take place on Thursday, 29 January at 12p.m. in the Foreign Press Association of Greece, 23 Akademias street, Athens.

October 24, 2008: International Day against Obesity

The international day against obesity is celebrated on the 24th of October and with this opportunity the Institute of Preventive Medicine Environmental and Occupational Health, Prolepsis has issued this press release informing the public about this serious public health threat and also providing information on a relevant European project titled "Guidelines for the Prevention of Obesity at the Workplace"-The GPOW project.

Prolepsis presented the results of two projects concerning health promotion for vulnerable population groups, such as the elderly and illiterate, during a successful information function that took place on September 30, 2008, one day before the international day of senior citizens. The projects were co-funded by the European Commission.
