Alpha-to-Omega – New Pathways Towards Volunteering and Life Learning for Senior European Citizens

European Commission: DG Education and Culture, Socrates-Grundtvig

Working towards the better incorporation of senior citizens within European Union, the project aims to develop and implement educational tools for lifelong learning for senior citizens.
Using the methods of social participation, volunteering and inter-generational dialogue, the project helps senior citizens to increase their knowledge and diverse qualifications and is addressed to migrants, citizens with low educational level and senior citizens that belong to minorities. Cooperation and dialogue between senior citizens and members of younger generations based on common themes are encouraged while special modules are also developed for senior citizens with special needs.
Different issues will be analyzed during Alpha-to-Omega. Some of these modules concern love and partnership, music, photography, living history, volunteering, safety at home, safe use of medication, technology and media, literature and cultural heritage.
