Presentation of the Food Aid & Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program for the 2013-2014 academic year reaching 50,000 students in socially vulnerable areas
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) and the Prolepsis Institute announced that the Food Aid & Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program shall continue during the 2013-2014 academic year, following a new grant approved by the SNF’s Board of Directors. The announcement was made during a joint press conference held on Tuesday November 19th at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

Press Conference on the Food Aid and Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program
The Prolepsis Institute and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation are organizing a press conference for the presentation of the Food Aid and Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program. The program, implemented by the Prolepsis Institute with a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, continues for the third consecutive year. It aims to respond to the nutritional needs of 50.000 students in socioeconomically vulnerable areas affected by the economic crisis throughout Greece.

The Food Aid and Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program successfully continues
The Food Aid and Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program is progressing rapidly. More and more schools are being included in the program while the number of students receiving daily, healthy meals is increasing. As of today 29,258 students from 182 schools in Attica, Thessaloniki, Imathia, Patras and Thrace receive the specially designed meals.

In full compliance with the goals set by the UN General Assembly to reduce hunger in the world which established October the 16th as World Food Day, the Food Aid and Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program has been extended to 50,000 students in over 300 schools for this school year.
