REMESOS (Resilient and Mentally Healthy Societies)
Prolepsis Institute participates as a partner in the Resilient and Mentally Healthy Societies (REMESOS) project, implemented under the EU4Health Programme (EU4H-2024-PJ-03). The project started on 1 September 2025 and will run for 36 months. Coordinated by EuroHealthNet, REMESOS brings together a multi-disciplinary consortium of public health institutions, civil society organizations, academic partners, and patient representatives from across Europe.
REMESOS project seeks to empower communities, enhance resilience, and reduce the burden of mental ill-health through scalable, evidence-based interventions, and policy innovations in co-creation with patients and people with lived experience. At its core, REMESOS will implement the Guided Functional Peer Support (GFP) model—a proven, low-threshold community mental health practice recognized as a best practice by the EU. Adapted to the diverse contexts of Greece, Slovakia, Portugal, and Bosnia & Herzegovina, GFP will provide a safe, peer-driven approach to enhance mental wellbeing, reduce stigma, and support vulnerable groups.
Implementation will include tailored situation analyses, capacity building, and ongoing evaluation, ensuring sustainability and replicability across Europe. Additionally, REMESOS will develop a population-level mental health measurement tool, enabling policymakers to monitor mental health outcomes and evaluate interventions such as the GFP systematically. By reviewing existing mental health data and measurement tools and engaging key stakeholders, this tool will provide actionable insights for policymaking accounting for mental health.
REMESOS leverages a multi-disciplinary consortium of public health institutions, civil society organizations, and people with lived experience to foster collaboration, scale best practices, and provide evidence-based recommendations for policy and practice. The project aligns with the EU’s Comprehensive Approach to Mental Health by addressing prevention, inclusion, and stigma reduction, contributing to a more resilient and mentally healthy Europe and directly addressing the EU4Health call’s objective to support a prevention-oriented, comprehensive approach to mental health across Europe.
