MEDLIT

MedLit: Training for Safer Use of Drug and improvement of health literacy

The Prolepsis Institute participates as a partner in the MedLit project, which aims to enhance health literacy regarding the safe use of medications and vaccines, addressing significant public health challenges such as antimicrobial resistance (AMR), vaccine hesitancy, and mental health medication compliance. MedLit is a three-year programme (01/11/2024-31/10/2027) funded by the ERASMUS+ Programme of the European Union.

MedLit aims to educate various groups, including older adults, carers, and parents, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, to foster trust in healthcare practices. Additionally, MedLit seeks to promote proper medication disposal to mitigate environmental and safety concerns, recognizing the critical role of adult education in achieving these goals.

The consortium will develop an innovative and evidence-based training program based on the target groups’ views and needs, collected through co-creation, focusing on issues such as: antibiotics use, vaccinations, mental health medication, medication disposal, overdose risk, children and medication, storage and handling, alcohol and other substance interactions, medicine interaction. In addition, MedLit will enable adult educators to further disseminate the training curriculum through their educational activities, therefore amplifying the impact of the project.

The consortium consists of 5 organizations from 4 countries.
