Education of physicians working in rural areas with regards to prevention of occupational diseases and accidents among farmers and fishermen

Through this programme, approximately 2000 physicians who work in the rural areas of Greece were informed about the causes, prevention and the proper handling of diseases and accidents that are related to farming and the fishing industry. Its main outcome was a booklet delivered free of charge to all physicians working in the rural areas of Greece informing them about both the problems faced and the actions to be taken. A press- attended meeting was held to present and promote the booklet to physicians.
