Content of Initial and Vocational Training in Public Health in European Member States – CIVOT

European Commission: Leonardo da Vinci Programme

In this project we used specific methodology to compile and update comparable data from a large number of educational institutions teaching in the field of Public Health. We identified and contacted 389 Training Organisations related to Public Health in 18 countries from which 289 responded to our research and a specially designed computer based electronic data collection form (DCF) consisting of 31 thematic fields of questions was used.

We have collected, analysed and compared information on the content of Public Health initial and continuing vocational education and training for health professions in 19 European countries, by looking in detail at the relative courses contents, syllabuses and other training material. All data are stored in a database accessible to prospective Public Health students, researchers or teachers, medical, paramedical and non-medical professionals, private and public institutions, as a handy tool of information, reference, and comparison.
