Prof Linos’ interview to health.in.gr
On October 16th, to celebrate World Food Day, Prof. Linos talked about the traditional Greek diet and its role in the treatment of obesity, in an interview hosted on health.in.gr. She also referred to the Food Aid and Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program, which is implemented by the Prolepsis Institute.
Specifically, Prof. Linos underlined the two serious dietary problems faced by Greeks and explored the reasons behind the persistent rates of obesity in Greece, despite it being the Mediteranean diet’s birthplace.
Moreover, Prof. Linos presented the "10 commandments" of a healthy diet and provided useful tips on cheap yet healthy eating.
Finally, she discussed the Food Aid and Promotion of Healthy Nutrition Program, which is implemented by the Prolepsis Institute with a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Prof. Linos highlighted how all participating students learn more about healthy diets while concurrently developing healthy eating habits for both the students and their families.
