Presentation of the National Dietary Guidelines in the 3rd WORLD CONGRESS OF PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITION
Prolepsis Institute participated in the 3rd WORLD CONGRESS OF PUBLIC HEALTH NUTRITION that took place on November 7 – 11, 2014 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in Spain. In one of the largest worldwide congress concerning nutrition and public health, Konstantina Zota, specialist in Health Promotion and co-director of Research and Head of National Programs of the Prolepsis Institute, presented two posted communications regarding the National Dietary Guidelines, which have been developed by the scientific team of Prolepsis Institute in collaboration with specialized scientists and professors from the Medical Schools of the University of Athens and the University of Crete, Harokopeio University and the Agricultural University of Athens among others.
More specifically, Mrs. Zota presented research work related to:
• The trends in availability of foods in Greece for the last 50 years and
The National Dietary Guidelines have been developed with an aim to contribute to the promotion of the population’s health, based on recent scientific knowledge and by making the best use of Greek traditional diet. Furthermore, the National Dietary Guidelines focus on social and economic issues and they are valuable for all readers.
