Nutrition Seminar in MetLife Insurance Company

Nutrition & Health at Work Members of the scientific team of Prolepsis Institute visited the headquarters of MetLife Insurance Company in Athens on April 23, 2015, in the context of implementing the program Nutrition & Health at Work. The nutrition seminar was aimed at health promotion, and in particular, at the adoption of healthy eating habits and the prevention of obesity.

The Institute of Preventive Medicine Environmental and Occupational Health, ensuring the health of workers.

The International Labour Organization (ILO) celebrates the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on the April 28 to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. The same day is declared Workers Memorial Day, as an additional token of appreciation to the working class and a way of honouring those who have perished in the workplace.

World Malaria Day

World Malaria Day, April 25, 2015 - Malaria is a public health problem in over 100 countries, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. According to estimates provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO), due to efforts made to control malaria, over 4.3 million lives have been saved between 2001 and 2013, reducing the mortality rate of the disease by 47% globally and 54% in Africa, between 2000 and 2013.

Consumption of chamomile, sage and mountain tea protects from thyroid cancer

A study led by the Prolepsis Institute in cooperation with the Medical School of Athens published in the European Journal of Public Health confirms that systematic and long-term consumption of chamomile, sage and mountain tea protects from thyroid cancer as well as other benign thyroid diseases.
