National Dietary Guidelines

The scientific team of the Institute of Preventive Medicine, Environmental and Occupational Medicine, Prolepsis, in cooperation with many Greek and foreign scientists and Professors undertook a 2-year Project called "Ev Dia…Trofin", with the main goal to develop, produce and disseminate the National Dietary Guidelines.

The project was completed successfully as the National Dietary Guidelines are now available to the scientific and wider community. The project was made possible thanks to the funding of the Ministry of Health and the ESPA Program.

The National Dietary Guidelines are divided into 4 categories:
• Adults – a Guide to healthy living through nutritional choices
• Greek women – guidelines for the most important phases in a woman’s life such as pregnancy, lactation and menopause
• Infants, children and adolescents – ensuring a healthy start, healthy mental and physical development of children throughout their lives.
• Adults over the age of 65 – a guide to promote healthy living and ensure the highest quality of life and longevity.
