Maya AlMoussa from Harvard University joined Prolepsis through the Politics Director's Internship program
August 2, 2019
For one more year, Prolepsis was honored to welcome a young student from Harvard University’s Institute of Politics as a part of the Director’s Internship Program.
Maya AlMoussa is a rising junior at Harvard College, studying Molecular and Cellular Biology, with an interest in public health and medicine. During her 2-month internship at Prolepsis, Maya worked on projects related to Roma social issues and the EU-VET CARE project, which examines barriers, facilitators, and training needs of healthcare professionals working with migrant/refugee children. In addition, she visited sites of various Prolepsis food-distribution programs (the Program on Food Aid and Promotion of Healthy Nutrition – DIATROFI and the 365+ Days of Care program), and attended the SNF Conference.
Maya hopes to enter the medical field as a physician and researcher in the public health world. When she returns to campus, she’ll continue working with the UNICEF club on campus and volunteering with elderly undergoing rehabilitation.
"I absolutely loved my time at Prolepsis, and I learned so much about the public health non-profit world!", Maya AlMoussa
The Harvard Institute of Politics Director's Internship program has been offering career-oriented internships for undergraduate students interested in politics, government, and public service in high-profile organizations around the world for the past 20 years. This is the seventh year that Prolepsis has participated in the program, with numerous students expressing interest in joining and working with the Institute.
It was a pleasure working with Maya! We would like to thank her for all her work and wish her the best of luck!
