Info Day of the European Project euFAQT – Families and Adolescents Quit Tobacco – Families and teens against smoking
An Info Day for the announcement of the results of the European Project euFAQT – Families and Adolescents Quit Tobacco, is organized by the Institute for Preventive Environmental and Occupational Medicine, Prolepsis.
The event, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports, will take place on Monday, October 29, 2012, at 11.00 am, at the Ministry of Education and Religious Affairs, Culture and Sports, An. Papandreou 37, Maroussi.
In the framework of the project adolescents and their families were approached in key educational and entertainment settings and with their participation the project developed, implemented and evaluated innovative, evidence based and easily transferable interventions for the prevention of smoking and the enhancement of smoking cessation efforts. The educational material developed at the various stages of the project and the results of the intervention will be presented during the Info Day.
The main objective is the widespread dissemination of the intervention, so that it can constitute a useful tool in the effort for prevention and cessation of smoking among adolescents. Therefore an open discussion regarding the proposed action plan for the implementation of such initiatives will be held .

EuFAQT project has received funding from the European Union, Directorate General for Health and Consumer Protection and was kindly supported by Center for Disease Control and Prevention (KEELPNO). Prolepsis is the coordinator of euFAQT. Its consortium comprises, also, scientific organizations and universities from five other European countries. The promotion of a healthier smoke free way of life for European adolescents and their families is the main and general objective of the euFAQT project. It seeks to create a culture of prevention by promoting the benefits of smoke free environments, de-normalizing smoking and facilitating efforts for cessation.
