Siobhan Brushett
Siobhan Brushett is a Proposal Coordinator and Researcher at the Prolepsis Institute. Her background is in Biomedical Sciences and she holds a PhD degree from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, focused on the relations of the gut microbiome, diet and health outcomes at different stages of human life. She earned her BSc in Molecular and Cellular Biology and BMedSci (Hons) in Human Genetics (cum laude) at the University of Cape Town, South Africa, and her Masters in Molecular Medicine and Innovative Treatment (cum laude) at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. During her Master’s degree, she completed two research internships; one at the Department of Medical Microbiology at the University Medical Center of Groningen (UMCG) in the Netherlands, and the other with the Host-Microbiota Interactions Group at the Wellcome Sanger Institute in Cambridge, the United Kingdom. In her role at Prolepsis, Siobhan supports the development of EU proposals, is a Project Manager for EU projects and enjoys mentoring and supporting university and high school interns.
