This programme that was implemented in co-operation with the European Union in the framework of "Europe against cancer" programme, included the organisation of a satellite symposium to the 21st Panhellenic Medical Conference. During the symposium that aimed at the education of practitioners and health professionals in cancer prevention, European Union representatives and Greek experts presented and analysed the European Code Against Cancer. The Code was translated in Greek and its Greek edition was disseminated to health professionals in order to promote primary cancer prevention.
