Workshop on Health Journalism

The Institute of Preventive Medicine, Environmental & Occupational Health, Prolepsis, on behalf of the Health Reporting Training (HeaRT) project, is organizing a 4-day workshop on Health Journalism in Athens, Greece on 27-30 September 2012. The workshop that will be held in Greek, will take place at Prolepsis Institute.

During the workshop the following issues will be discussed:

– Consumer and lifestyle health

– Health economics

– Conflict of interest

– Medical research and science in the news

– Interpretation of medical reports and statistics 

– Global health coverage

– Multimedia reporting – the role of new media in health reporting

HeaRT is a 2-year Leonardo da Vinci, Grundvig and Dissemination project, co-funded by the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency. The HeaRT partnership comprises of 6 partners from Germany, United Kingdom, Romania, Estonia, Finland and Greece. The general objective of the HeaRT project is to develop high quality vocational training toolsoffering knowledge & skills to journalists so as to improve health reporting in the EU.
