A study visit on the topic of Health Promotion in the Workplace

A study visit on the topic of Health Promotion in the Workplace was organized by Prolepsis Institute in cooperation with EuroHealthNet, on December 12-13, 2013. The event was hosted by Prolepsis and was attended by representatives from five member organisations from the Netherlands, Wales, Slovenia and Norway.

Τhe event allowed for the exchange of ideas, best practices, national strategies and approaches on the issue of occupational health and with a focus on the upcoming EU Strategy on Occupational Safety and Health.

Specifically, the legislative framework for health and safety at work in Greece, as well as the actions and programs of the Institute relating to health promotion in the workplace, were presented during the event. Furthermore, each participant presented the legislation and programs for health promotion in the workplace, implemented in their respective country. 

On the second day, a visit to TITAN, a cement and building materials producer, was scheduled. The visit was held at the facilities of the company’s Kamari plant, in Voiotia. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the company’s health promotion activities and the safety and hygiene measures applied, given that TITAN is an industry-leader in terms of health promotion, safety and security measures in the workplace.
