Presentation of the National Dietary Guidelines for women and for pregnant and nursing women in the 13th Panhellenic Conference of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The Greek Obstetrics and Gynecology Association carried out the 13th Panhellenic Conference of Obstetrics and Gynecology on May 28-31, 2015 in Volos.
In the conference, which is organized every 3 years, the latest advances in this field were discussed One of the topics presented in the conference was the National Dietary Guidelines for women (with special reference to pregnancy, nursing and menopause), as it has been developed by the scientific team of Prolepsis Institute in collaboration with specialized scientists and professors from the Medical Schools of the University of Athens and of Crete, Harokopeio University and the Agricultural University of Athens. The members of the scientific team of the National Dietary Guidelines, Mrs. Vasiliki Benatou, Pediatrician and Assistant Professor of Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Medical School of the University of Athens and Mrs. Katerina Belogianni, dietician – nutritionist, presented the methodology and dietary recommendations for women in the most significant stages of their lives.
The National Dietary Guidelines is a project carried out by Prolepsis Institute with a view to promoting healthy nutrition in Greece, by combining advanced scientific knowledge with the traditional Greek diet. Furthermore, the National Dietary Guidelines focus on social and economic issues and they are valuable for all readers.
