The major impact of installing a  landfill in the area of Grammatiko, Attica, on the land, the groundwater, Evoikos Gulf and the atmosphere, is underlined in the letter addressed to the Committee on Petitions of the European Parliament by Athena Linos, Professor of Medical School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Theodoros C. Constantinidis, Professor of Hygiene, Director of Laboratory of Hygiene & Environmental Protection, Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace.

 

“The Greek Government and the Attica Prefecture should promptly look for a safer methodology for handling the municipal, as well as the hazardous and electronic waste, as most other European member states have already done".
