{"id":7847,"date":"2018-12-27T16:32:52","date_gmt":"2018-12-27T13:32:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.prolepsis.gr\/uncategorized\/immunion\/"},"modified":"2022-12-01T15:16:38","modified_gmt":"2022-12-01T12:16:38","slug":"immunion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prolepsis.gr\/en\/programs\/immunion\/","title":{"rendered":"IMMUNION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<b>IMMUNION<\/b><b>,<\/b><b> <\/b><b>&ldquo;Improving IMMunisation cooperation in the European UNION&rdquo;<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<b>IMMUNION<\/b> is a two-year project (01\/04\/2021 &ndash; 31\/03\/2023), co-funded by the European Union&#39;s Health Programme (2014-2020), with the ultimate goal of increasing vaccine confidence and uptake.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<b>IMMUNION<\/b> aims to support EU efforts to improve vaccine uptake by strengthening joint efforts amongst Coalition for Vaccination member associations and other stakeholders (e.g., media, national health authorities and local communities) in order to address issues of access to accurate, evidence-based information about vaccination and deliver better vaccine education to health professionals and better information to the general public. This will be primarily achieved through strategies focused on communication and training. The program will also develop tools and resources to increase vaccine coverage, in particular amongst underserved populations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tThe program will:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\n\t\tShare validated vaccination training materials and resources with health professionals and students across Europe;&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tStrengthen the existing Coalition for Vaccination and its long-term sustainability and visibility;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tDevelop and provide training opportunities for health professionals and students on vaccination communication;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tEnhance collaboration between public health institutions, health professionals and the media and foster evidence-based reporting on vaccination;<\/li>\n<li>\n\t\tIncrease understanding of the drivers of vaccine inequalities and address vaccination coverage issues in vulnerable and underserved populations.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\t<b>IMMUNION<\/b> will bring together evidence-based materials on vaccines for health professionals via a web-based platform and will provide training opportunities for health professionals and students via train-the-trainers workshops and webinars. Additionally, the project will develop national toolboxes of promising practices to increase vaccine uptake in underserved communities and improve overall equity in vaccination.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tThe IMMUNION project is coordinated by EuroHealthNet and has been conceived and designed to strengthen the existing Coalition for Vaccination and improve stakeholder collaboration to increase vaccine uptake across Europe. More specifically it will increase the visibility and reach of the Coalition for Vaccination through a number of approaches and activities, focused on vaccine communication and education and training of healthcare professionals<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tThe Coalition for Vaccination was created based on the 2018 EU Council Recommendation on strengthened cooperation against vaccine-preventable diseases and it brings together European associations of healthcare professionals and relevant student associations in the field.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n\tThe <b>IMMUNION<\/b> project brings together a diverse consortium from associations of health professionals to national public health institutes, media experts, and researchers.
