\n\tEuropean Commission: Public Health Program 2008- 2013\"\"<\/p>\n

\n\tPROMOVAX is a 3-year project funded by the DG SANCO Public Health Program 2008–2013. <\/p>\n

\tPROMOVAX’s general objective is to promote immunizations among migrant populations in Europe, thus contributing to the elimination of vaccine preventable diseases in the region and reducing social inequality in populations' health. This project aims to complement EU policies on reaching hard-to-reach populations by adding to the knowledge of barriers among migrants concerning immunizations, developing immunization educational material for both health professionals and migrants and by developing recommendations for policy-makers and stakeholders. <\/p>\n

\tMore specifically, PROMOVAX aims to: <\/p>\n

\t– Identify and record the immunization needs of migrant populations. 
\n\t– Evaluate migrants’ access to immunization in the EU countries. 
\n\t– Analyze the legislative context regarding migrant immunizations in the participating countries. 
\n\t– Identify and exchange best practices on immunization health promotion among migrant populations. 
\n\t– Enhance health care professionals’ knowledge on immunization needs of migrants and raise cultural sensitivity among health care professionals providing for migrants. 
\n\t– Improve migrants’ understanding and acceptance of immunizations and facilitate their access to immunizations. <\/p>\n

\tThe PROMOVAX consortium consisted of 11 associates partners from 8 countries and 12 collaborating partners from 11 countries.<\/p>\n
