\n\t"Strengthening capacities for better health care to refugee and migrant children"<\/i><\/p>\n

\n\tProlepsis Institute invites you to a 4-day training Workshop for professionals working on health care provision for migrant and refugee children including unaccompanied minors. The event is organized in the context of the European program EU-VET CARE "Strengthening capacities for better health care to refugee and migrant children",<\/b> from Monday 28th<\/sup> of June 2021 (10:00 – 13:00 CET) to Thursday 1st<\/sup> of July (10:00 – 14:00 CET). The training event will be focusing on professionals who provide care to refugee and migrant children, including unaccompanied minors, i.e., physicians, psychologists, social workers, cultural mediators, and other related professionals.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe training event will cover issues related to the health of migrant & refugee children and will be delivered through 10 interdisciplinary and specialized modules<\/b>. Interdisciplinary modules<\/b> will be taught on the first 3 days and will focus on legal framework and protocols for children, methods of interdisciplinary collaboration, intercultural competence, health literacy skills and cultural sensitivity, communication issues, as well as burnout and stress management issues. On the last day of the seminar, the specialized modules<\/b> will be delivered with training being divided into 4 thematic subjects for psychologists, physicians, cultural mediators and social workers. Training will focus respectively on how to manage mental health issues, health needs for migrant and refugee children, health terminology skills, and trauma recognition and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).<\/p>\n

\n\tEU-VET CARE<\/b> is a three-year project, which will be completed in August 2021, funded by the ERASMUS+ Programme of the European Union. The program aims to design and implement innovative vocational training for health professionals on the appropriate delivery of health-care for migrant and refugee children including unaccompanied minors. The project consortium comprises organizations from 5 European countries. In Greece the project is implemented by Prolepsis Institute and Faros. Other organizations are the Ethno-Medical Centre (Programme Coordinator, Germany), Cyprus University of Technology, Zadig ltd (Italy), Universitat de Valencia (Spain).<\/p>\n

\n\tThe training event is organized by Prolepsis Institute in collaboration with Faros and the active participation of the EU-VET CARE consortium partners. It will be carried out online, through the Zoom platform and participation is free of charge.<\/p>\n
