{"id":3336,"date":"2020-02-23T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-02-22T21:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.prolepsis.gr\/uncategorized\/recommendations-and-advice-for-the-public\/"},"modified":"2022-11-03T14:49:00","modified_gmt":"2022-11-03T11:49:00","slug":"recommendations-and-advice-for-the-public","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prolepsis.gr\/en\/news\/recommendations-and-advice-for-the-public\/","title":{"rendered":"RECOMMENDATIONS AND ADVICE FOR THE PUBLIC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\n\t<u>23 February 2020<\/u><\/p>\n<p>\n\tDuring previous outbreaks due to other coronavirus (Middle-East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), human-to-human transmission occurred through droplets, contact and fomites, suggesting that the transmission mode of the COVID-19 can be similar.<\/p>\n<p>\n\tThe basic principles to reduce the general risk of transmission of acute respiratory infections include the following:<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&#8211; Avoiding close contact with people suffering from acute respiratory infections.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&#8211; Frequent hand-washing, especially after direct contact with ill people or their environment.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&#8211; Avoiding unprotected contact with farm or wild animals.<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&#8211; People with symptoms of acute respiratory infection should practice cough etiquette (maintain distance, cover coughs and sneezes with disposable tissues or clothing, and wash hands).<\/p>\n<p>\n\t&#8211; Within health care facilities, enhance standard infection prevention and control practices in hospitals, especially in emergency departments. WHO does not recommend any specific health measures for travellers.
