\n\tPresentation of the European Program "e-CAPACIT8" by the Prolepsis Institute  <\/b><\/p>\n

\n\t <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Prolepsis Institute participated in a workshop on "Increasing safety and health at work in every age," held on June 25th, 2014 in Athens and organized by the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work (EU-OSHA), Milieu Ltd and Ergonomia SA. Dina Zota, Head of National Programmes and Health Promotion Specialist at the Institute presented the European Program "e-CAPACIT8" on strengthening the skills of health professionals in the workplace to improve the health of the aging population. <\/p>\n

\tThe objective of "e-CAPACIT8" is to strengthen the skills of European health professionals providing, through the internet, the necessary educational tools tailored to the needs of each country. With these tools, health professionals have the opportunity to improve their knowledge about the health problems faced by the aging workforce in their country, to provide necessary advice and to participate more actively in solving the problems faced by this population group. Dr. Anastasia Pantazopoulou – Fotinea, Public Health Specialist and former Director General of Public Health and Quality of Life of the Ministry of Health also atended the event on behalf of the Prolepsis Institute. <\/p>\n

\tThe workshop was held within the framework of a pilot program for the safety and health of aging workers. The objective of this program is to identify and assess the EU Member States' strategies and systems for Safety and Health at Work, which take into account the aging workforce and can ensure better prevention for everyone throughout the course of their profesional life. <\/p>\n

\tDuring the workshop there was an exchange of views on the current situation in Greece, while mitigating measures and good practices were discussed and the motivations and barriers to promotion of programs and initiatives relating to greater safety and health at work of a rapidly aging workforce were investigated.<\/p>\n
