\n\t <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Prolepsis Institute has been one of the participants in the 2nd International Conference of Global Food Security which took place in New York in October 11-14 hosted by Cornell University and Columbia University. The main theme of the conference was to range across disciplines to encompass treatments of the challenge of Global Food Security<\/b>. <\/p>\n

\tMs Afroditi Veloudaki, General Director of the Institute, participated with an announcement entitled; Perceptions and attitudes of educators and School Principals participating in a school-based feeding program in disadvantaged areas in Greece: a qualitative study<\/b>, presenting the quality and the numerous benefits offered by the DIA<\/b>TROFI Program. <\/p>\n

\tSince the launching of the DIA<\/b>TROFI Program, there have been conducted 375 focus groups and personal interviews by which the multidimensional, educational and social character of the Program is demonstrated. As headmasters and school teachers have reported, the following changes have been observed in schools participating in the Program DIA<\/b>TROFI:<\/p>\n

\n\t• Reinforcement of social cohesion, collectivity and solidarity,
\n\t• Improvement in students’ performance,
\n\t• Strengthening of collaboration between parents and the school,
\n\t• Improvement of students’ eating habits,
\n\t• Decrease of school dropout.<\/p>\n

\n\t
\n\tThe outcomes of this 2nd International Conference on Global Food Security with the participation of researchers and specialists from all over the world are, inter alia, to understand economical, institutional, political, social and technological parameters that affect food security all over the world. The participation of Prolepsis Institute in this Conference has contributed into disseminating the results of the Program DIA<\/b>TROFI as a good practice while the shared expertise is a gain for the Institute that can be used in the initiatives that it takes against poverty and food insecurity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
