During college, she enjoyed participating in and volunteering for four cataract surgical and medical trips to rural Peru, where she was exposed to global and public health. She also volunteered throughout college for the trauma research team at Elmhurst Hospital Center, a large public hospital in one the most diverse neighborhoods in the United States, and assisted the team with retrospective studies, as well as community and public health oriented initiatives. This August 2017, Alexandra will begin her medical studies at SUNY Buffalo in upstate New York.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\n\tDuring her internship at Prolepsis Alexandra worked on a manuscript regarding obesity and unhealthy diets in the WHO European region, while also contributed to activities related to the <a href=\"http:\/\/h-com.eu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span>H-Com<\/span><\/a> project regarding the improvement of skills and competencies of health professionals in communication.
