{"id":13711,"date":"2024-07-23T10:07:32","date_gmt":"2024-07-23T07:07:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.prolepsis.gr\/?p=13711"},"modified":"2024-07-23T10:08:04","modified_gmt":"2024-07-23T07:08:04","slug":"dimitrios-linos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.prolepsis.gr\/en\/bio-en\/dimitrios-linos\/","title":{"rendered":"Dimitrios Linos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Emeritus Professor of Surgery at the Athens Medical School of the National &amp; Kapodistrian University of Athens<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> President of Prolepsis Institute<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Professor Dimitrios Linos is the President of Prolepsis Institute, Emeritus Professor of Surgery at the Athens Medical School of the National &amp; Kapodistrian University of Athens in Greece, Lecturer in Surgery at Harvard Medical School, and Consultant in Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital. He currently serves as Director of Surgery and Director of Academic Affairs of Hygeia Group. He has served as Governor of the American College of Surgeons and President of the International Association in Endocrine Surgeons, and President of the Hellenic Association of Endocrine Surgeons. Since 2021, he is ordained as a Greek Orthodox priest.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Linos received his training in Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital and at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He started his Academic and Professional Career in Cleveland, Ohio as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Case Western Reserve University. \u00a0He returned to Greece where he was promoted to the rank of \u00a0Professor of Surgery at the Athens Medical School and served as Director of the 5th Surgery Clinic of the National &amp; Kapodistrian University of Athens.<\/p>\n<p>He has authored over 150 original scientific papers, and chapters in several International Journals of Surgery. He is considered one of the leading international surgeons, especially in Endocrine Surgery.
