Informational Speech for Senior Citizens about Safety and the Prevention of Accidents at Home
The Institute of Preventive Medicine, Environmental and Occupational Health, Prolepsis, is organizing an informational speech for senior citizens about safety and the prevention of accidents at home on Thursday, May 28th 2009 at 10:00 am. The event will take place at the Municipal Day Care Centre for the Elderly of Argiroupoli, 27, Aleksioupoleos str. in Argiroupoli. The event is sponsored by the National Bank of Greece and significantly supported by the Mayor of Argiroupoli, Mr. Dimitris Efstathiadis, and the President of the Municipal Day Care Centre for the Elderly of Argiroupoli, Mr Ioannis Kopitas.
Dr. Ioannnis Poluchronakis, the main speaker of the event, will present guidelines on accident prevention through practical educational methods. The high risk areas of the household and main factors that can cause accidents at home will be pointed out to the seniors with the use of pictures and examples. Finally, useful advice will be provided regarding safer household arrangement in order to prevent possible accidents.
