EDUCATION
The Institute of Preventive Medicine Environmental and Occupational Health aims at the dissemination and promotion of knowledge on medical research and preventive medicine. Therefore, Prolepsis supports young health professionals, students and scientists working in these fields. In addition, either independently or in collaboration with universities and scientific bodies in Greece and abroad, the Institute organizes scientific meetings, seminars and conferences on subjects related to research methodology and preventive medicine both for health professionals and for the general public.

Indicatively, we refer to:
- a seven-day educational seminar on epidemiology and research methodology (1991) organized in collaboration with the American College of Epidemiology
- educational seminars for the sensitization of general practitioners concerning cancer prevention and educational programmes for physicians working in rural areas with regards to occupational risks among farmers and fishermen (1994) which led to relevant publications
- a three-day conference on the role of the Mass Media in cancer prevention funded by the European Union organized in 1995. In the conference participated eminent journalists from the Greek and international press, politicians and church representatives
- conference concerning the disparities in health professionals training in the European Union and novel educational tools for the training of health professionals (2005)
- development of educational tool for the promotion of health at the workplace for women (2005-2007)
- development of educational tool for the response of health professionals to terrorist threats -biological, chemical, radiological (European Union, 2005-2008).
